This study examined the effects of an hypnotic intervention on flow states and golf-chipping performance. Participants indicated the intervention seemed useful in keeping them confident, relaxed, and in control. These results support the hypothesis that an hypnotic intervention can improve golf-chipping performance and increase feelings and cognitions associated with flow.

Using Hypnosis to Improve Performance of College Basketball Players
This study examined whether hypnosis would improve shooting performance of a group of college basketball players. Throughout one basketball season 12 male and 12 female basketball players were interviewed prior to individual and group sessions with hypnosis. The hypnosis groups showed higher cumulative scores for shooting than players in the control group.
